3 MONTHS SUPPLY - METHODS

HOW DO I ESTABLISH A THREE MONTH SUPPLY OF FOOD?

Method One

1. Make a list of meals your family eats regularly.
Note: because you will be storing the food for these recipes you will need to replace perishable fruits and vegetables with canned items.
·       3 Breakfast Meals
·       5 Lunch Meals
·       10 Dinner Meals
2. List the foods needed to make those meals.
3. Purchase in bulk the foods on the list.

Method Two

Basic Food Supply – (per adult per month – all cans are #10)
Grains – 3 cans of wheat, 1 white flour, 2 rice, 1 oats, 1 pasta
Legumes – 1 beans
Powdered Milk – 1 can
Oil/Shortening – 1 3 lb. can
Sugar or Honey – 1 can
Salt – 12 oz.
Water – 14 gals.

Our Preparedness Classes will offer cooking ideas and demos with one of these  items each month.  Check our Monthly Meeting Info on the pages link to see what's up for this month.
