BEGINNING A FOOD STORAGE PLAN

HOW DO WE BEGIN?
1.  Store Drinking Water – Recommended is 2 gal. per person per day.   See the Excel Family Storage Plan for full amounts for your family.  (If you don’t have this Storage Plan, email us at familyprepared@gmail.com and we will send it to you.)
2.  Gradually build a small supply of food that is part of your normal daily diet until it is sufficient for three months.  Test run your supply by trying to eat just what is in your pantry for a few days, or creating a meal with the help of the children not using any utilities, no stove, refrigerator/freezer.  Use just the items you have saved for your three month supply.
3.  Establish a financial reserve by setting aside a little money each week, and gradually increase it to a reasonable amount.
4.  Once families have achieved the first three objectives, they are counseled to expand their efforts, as circumstances allow, into a supply of long-term basic foods such as grains, legumes and other staples.

You can use the guidelines in the following posts for theand 3 month Checklist and suggested items for the 3 day  3 month plan to get your food storage started.
